Crispy Baked Avocado wedges in Two ways

Crispy Avocado wedges – the best and fun way to eat the super food – Avocado. Its crispy on the outside and still avocadoeey on the inside. We made it in two ways with and with out eggs to satisfy every one. Perfect appetizer or side.

How to cut Avocado in to wedges

  • It’s important that you have firm, slightly under ripe avocados for best results. Mushy or soft avocados will not work well.
  • Slice the avocados in half and remove the pits.
  • Carefully scoop out the avocados from the skins, and cut them from top to bottom into 3-4 thick strips (depending on the size of your avocados). Set aside.

VERSION 1 : AVOCADO WEDGES WITH EGG

STEP 1 : Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Slice each avocado in half, peel the skin and then cut into wedges.

STEP 2: 

In a bowl add 1 large egg and beat it lightly.

Seasoned Flour

  • 1/4 cup Plain flour / All purpose fl0ur
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper powder

Mix plain flour with garlic powder and pepper powder in a bowl

Seasoned Bread crumbs

  • 1/2 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 tsp Salt 
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder

Add all ingredients for the bread crumbs to a small bowl and stir until everything is well combined. Adjust seasonings to your preference. Set aside.

STEP 3: 

  • Dip each avocado wedge in flour, then eggs, then panko, then place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Drizzle with oil or spray with cooking spray. This will help the avocado slices crisp in the oven.

STEP 4: 

Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway (until golden and crispy on the outside)

STEP 5 : Mayo Sriracha dipping

  • 1/4 cup Mayo
  • 1 tsp Sriracha

Mix mayo and sriracha in a bowl and serve as a dipping sauce for baked wedges.

VERSION 2 : AVOCADO WEDGES EGGLESS (VEGAN)

STEP 1 : Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Slice each avocado in half, peel the skin and then cut into wedges.

STEP 2 : Bread crumbs

  • 1/2 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning 
  • 1/8 teaspoon Salt (as required)

Add all ingredients for the bread crumbs to a small bowl and stir until everything is well combined. Adjust seasonings to your preference. Set aside.

STEP 3 : 

Dip each avocado slice into the bowl of almond milk, making sure they are completely covered, then dip the avocado slice into the bowl of prepared bread crumbs, making sure they are completely covered on both sides.

STEP 4 : 

  • Place the coated avocado slices on the baking pan lined with parchment paper.
  • Drizzle with oil or spray with cooking spray. This will help the avocado slices crisp in the oven.

STEP 5: 

Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway. Baking times will vary but the outside of the avocado wedges should be golden when ready.

STEP 6: Yogurt dipping sauce

  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt OR plain yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp mixed herbs
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and serve as a dipping sauce for eggless version of baked wedges.

TIPS AND TRICKS:
