Ingredients
- 1 pound (500g) Boneless chicken pieces (chop into 1-inch chunks)
- 1/2 cup Cornstarch
- 2 tbsp Plain flour / all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp Salt (as required)
- 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper powder
- 1 large Egg (beaten)
- Oil for Deep frying
Sweet Sauce:
- 1 tbsp Ketchup
- 1 clove Minced Garlic
- 1/2 tbsp Chili sauce
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 3 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Vinegar
- 1 tbsp Brown sugar
- 1/2 tbsp Corn starch
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 tsp Sesame oil OR Regular cooking oil
- 1 tsp Sesame seeds
Garnishing:
- Sesame Seeds
- Spring onions

Instruction:
- In a large, shallow bowl, whisk cornstarch flour, salt, and black pepper.
- Add beaten eggs to another bowl.
- Pour about 2 inches of canola oil into a deep frying pan and heat it over medium-high heat.
- Dip the chicken pieces into the beaten eggs.
- Add the chicken chunks to the cornstarch mixture and toss until well coated.
- Cook it in batches in the medium heat hot oil until golden and crispy (takes about 4 to 6 mins)
- Remove to a plate and set aside.
Sweet sauce:
- In a medium bowl combine all the SAUCE ingredients and set aside.
Final preparation and presentation:
- In a separate pan, add prepared sweet sauce and cook until the sauce thickened ( over medium heat)
- Now add in the fried chicken and toss for 1 to 2 mins at high heat.
- Sprinkle some of chopped green onion and sesame seeds and serve it hot for more crunchiness.
How to store leftovers:
- Refrigerate: Refrigerate this for 3 to 4 days in an airtight container.
- Freeze: You can put this in freezer bags and freeze for up to 4 months.
- To reheat: Simply thaw and heat again in the oven.
- Make ahead: You can prepare the meat separately and store it separately, too. Then, toss everything together and heat in the oven when needed.
