Tropical Summer Smoothie with Turmeric

Tropical fruits are blended with immune-boosting ingredients to create a deliciously healthy drink and its a perfect way to kickstart your day.

Main Ingredients

Orange – 1 medium Navel Orange (peeled) OR any sweet orange variety can also be used.

Banana – 1/2 cup of Frozen red banana OR any type of frozen bananas will also works good.

Pineapple – 1/2 cup of Pineapple chunks

Mango – 1/2 cup of fully riped frozen Mango chunks

Turmeric – 1 tsp Freshly grated turmeric (peeled) OR replace it with 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder

Milk – 1 cup Fresh Coconut milk, gives more richness to the smoothie. Store bought coconut milk will also works good.

INSTRUCTIONS

HERE ARE MY STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS WITH PHOTOS TO SHOW YOU EACH STEP

Step 1 :

Place the orange, frozen banana, frozen pineapple, frozen mango in a blender.

Step 2 :

Grated in 1 tsp of fresh turmeric and a dash of pepper powder.

Step 3 :

Add freshly prepared coconut milk.

Step 4 :

Cover and blend until smooth.

Step 5 : Serving

Sprinkle with some hemp hearts and serve it.

TIPS AND TRICKS:

How to use Fresh fruits – You can also make this smoothie with fresh fruits, just add ice cubes and blend all together. This will give thick texture for the smoothie.

Texture – Frozen fruit gives the smoothie a thick texture and makes it really cool and refreshing.

Substitute –

  • Orange – In place of navel orange, you can use any type of sweet orange variety.
  • Banana – I have used frozen red bananas, replace it with regular banana or plantain.
  • Milk- Replace coconut milk with any type of nut milk. 

Storage – You can serve immediately or store in refrigerator for later use.

Variations – Freeze them in popsicle mold and let it rest for overnight. Before serving take out from freezer and allow to rest for few seconds and remove from the mold and serve.
